Installing VLC media player through the compressed zip file and configuring settings.

First either right click the compressed folder and click extract all or open the compressed file, click on something in it an a tab will appear, click eaxtract all to continue.

Now select where you want to extract it to, then click OK.

Now a tab will appear and click extract.

Now go to the newly extracted foler and click the VLC Application (VLC.exe).

Now click run.

For a first time launch it will ask you about metadat network access and regular checking for VLC updates. Leave these checked and click to continue.

To configure the settings go to "Tools">"Preferences" in the media player itself.

Now a tab will appear showing modifiable preferences. Click on Interface (if not already selected) and go to the Menus language and change it to "British English".

Now go to Video and change the format for Video snapshots to jpg instead of png. Click save to apply changes.
