First, click "new".

Next you will be greeted with a new tab. Now set the "type" dropdown box to "Microsoft Windows".

Then set the "Version" drop down box to to "Windows 7 (32-bit)".

Then name it something appropriate and click next.

Now you can select the RAM allocation, its is best to set it between 512MB and 4096MB for a computer with 8GB of RAM (allocate about half of your RAM). It's best to not go above this as the actual OS on your computer requires the other half for the basic of operations. Click next after your selection.

Becuase we are starting from scratch leave this part as defualt ("Create a virtual hard disk now"). Now click next.

For this part leave it as defualt as well, it should be "VDI". Click next to continue.

For this next stage it depends on what you will utilise the vitual OS for. By defualt it is best to use "Dynamically allocated" as it would increase in size for more data you store in the file. The fixed size may limit you in the future pending on what oyu choose for the next step. Click next to continue.

Because we intially selected the dynamic file allocation leaving this at the defualt 25GB will be fine. Click next to continue.

Now the first part of the setup should be finished. Selct the OS you want to boot up (we have only set up one so far) and then select "start" to continue.

For this stage select the drive and directory that has the ISO on for the operating system you have selected. Then click start.

Now set language to "english", time and currency format the "English (United Kingdom)" and Keyboard or input method to "United Kingdom". Now click next.

Then click install now.

This step is unique to our ISO that we are using, we seletected the first Home Premium version. Most ISO's only contain one version of windows so you probobally wont have to sort out this stage. Click next to continue.

Now click the checkbox stating "I accept the licence terms" and click next to continue.

Next select "Custom (Advanced)".

Now select the 25GB partition and click next to continue.

Now just wait...

Now give your OS and user a name then click next.

This stage isnt necceserry, but you can set a password for your account. Then click next to continue.

You can enter your product key next, but you can add this later. Either way click next to continue.

Then click "Use recommended settings".

Now set the time zone and date and then click next ton continue.

This choice is entirely unique to you, however we just selected "Home Network". "Work Network" also contains simular permissions.

Now just wait...

Now your virtual box OS is installed.
